Black Eye Coffee. Don't get me wrong, I like their coffee, but I love their vintage details.
At Black Eye, we watched live feed of the Red Bull Stratos jump. Holy cow! I had tears in my eyes. To jump from the stratosphere and land on Earth? Scary beautiful.
After we left Black Eye, we found an old wooden desk on the side of the street in need of a fresh coat of paint and some love. I think we both had visions of that desk dancing in our heads. Sadly, it wouldn't fit in the car. I should have taken a picture of it but we were more or less in the middle of the road like a hot mess.
At one of the next coffee shops, we asked a friend what we should do with the day and he told us about The Brass Armadillo. Off we went! There were many great booths. Some of them were like little dream rooms to me.

I'm sad this one is blurry because look at that Pyrex! |
Coffee grinders for Axl. We've only seen the black metal and wood versions before. |
I find these dolls from time to time. I don't know what they're called. I cannot say I am fond of this clown one. 'Tis the season!
After a few hours of shopping (and seeing several items from our childhood), we were tired and hungry. It was time to eat! I appreciate kitsch, even in the form of food, so when Axl told me about Taco John's I just had to check it out:
